Take the learning slow.
- It doesn’t matter how much I read. What matters is how much I remember, how much original thinking is provoked, and what I created using what I had learned.
- With close reading, 2 pages can become a 1h minute conversation. With distant and shallow reading, 2 books might not lead to 1 takeaway.
The plan is dynamic.
- Because this is not a school syllabus, I am free to go off of the biweekly sprint plans. My own syllabus should grow as I grow. I want freedom, liberty, and every minute driven by curiosity.
- Think of the plan as a default to lean back on if one morning I wake up not knowing what to learn.
Try to do one thing at a time.
- It’s ok to have a few concurrent commitments, but I tend to not focus well when I try to start more than one project at a time or multitask to finish a handful of errands at one go.
- When I clear up mental space, that’s when I feel most creative, productive, and happy. I am living for myself and I can take it slow.
